Providence Service Corporation is a national company specializing in social services for a variety of client populations. Our Western Region Finance Department oversees financial operations for businesses across multiple states. We are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong desire to be an active contributor in the growth of our Region.

Position Location: Tucson, AZ; Reports to Western Region Controller

Position Overview: The Accountant is responsible for performing core accounting functions

Responsibilities:
* Prepare and enter journal entries
* Complete various General Ledger (GL) account reconciliations
* Complete monthly GL closings
* Prepare budgets and monthly reporting packages
* Prepare property and sales tax returns
* Prepare audit schedules
* Prepare cost reports and other supplemental schedules
* Report and ensure compliance of financial information
* Provide analytical and financial support to field operations and Corporate Finance Team
* Identity and implement process improvements to advance Finance Department
* Collaborate with other financial staff as needed to deliver exceptional customer service

Skills / Requirements

Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent plus five years accounting experience
* Strong general accounting knowledge including month/year end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and financial analysis
* Excellent analytical and technical skills including proficiency in U.S. GAAP and FASB rules and standards
* Strong computer desktop skills required including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
* Experience preparing annual budgets
* High energy and enthusiasm with a strong commitment to exceeding customer expectations
* Ability to learn quickly, make an immediate impact and provide value-added service to our customers
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with peers, field operations, management, etc.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Enthusiastic and analytical with dedicated work ethic
* Experience with Solomon general ledger package and FRX reporting tool a plus
