Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Apply all types of payments, all types of credit memos and any miscellaneous items to customer accounts accurately on a daily basis.
  • Research any sundry debits taken, partial payments made and returned payments for actions needed.
  • Document contacts and follow up with customers on open issues until accounts are current to terms.
  • Work with sales, shipping and accounting staff on customers on hold for possible release of orders and shipments.
  • Identify customers with balances outside of terms, document plans to get current, escalate unresolved issues or customer noncompliance and maintain follow up contact and documentation until account is current.
  • Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow up as required.
  • Clear A/R overpayments and coordinate with accounts payable on processing any refunds.
  • Coordinate with collection agencies regarding any accounts assigned for collection.
  • Work with other departments to make corrections to customer data and fix any errors.
  • Create and adhere to a schedule to print and send customer account statements on a monthly basis.
  • Run monthly and annual reports as required.


    Qualifications Required:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college in an accounting discipline; or four to five years related experience in Accounts Receivable and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word and Excel. Should be proficient using email and the Internet.
  • Will use company CRM and accounting software.
