The Holiday Inn Airport on Palo Verde has 6 floors with 235 rooms, 65 suites and a beautiful outdoor heated pool.
Job Purpose:
Direct and manage the human resources program to provide leadership, guidance, counsel and training to hotel, regional vice presidents, general managers, and all staff to ensure a legal, effective and efficient operation of all managed properties in an effort to preserve the assets of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates recruitment efforts with hiring managers, interviews applicants, coordinates interviews with hiring managers and assists with the final decision process.
Manages all human resources related Ethics and Compliance complaints.
Determines impact of payroll issues as they relate to company fiscal concerns and internal pay equity which may include recommending solutions to property pay problems.
Ensures that wage and hour issues and garnishments are correctly handled from interrogatories to final payment; handles wage and hour audits with the Department of Labor or OSHA.
Manages the performance evaluation system that ensures that compensation and performance standards are defined in such a way as to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and direct the maintenance of personnel records by properties.
Administers company Salary and Wage administration program for area properties ensuring consistent administration of the program and compliance to company policy.
Directs property level investigations of general and complaint-driven audits by state commission of human rights; analyze all documentation and when necessary and makes recommendation to management for settlement.
Ensures that disciplinary actions are implemented in a fair and consistent manner; ensures that allegations of misconduct are appropriately documented.
Counsels managers and associates as well as reviews and assesses liability and works with property GM to approve disciplinary actions; writes the disciplinary action as needed.
Reviews Human Resources operational issues and works with the appropriate Vice President or Regional Vice President, or GM in directing the implementation of policies.
Directs settlement efforts with associates who have not yet filed formal charges against the Company; performs a complete analysis of company liability and settles, proposes settlement to company management or transfers the matter to legal counsel.
Serves as the Property compliance officer. Directs the administration of company policy in various areas of associate relations such as drug testing, sexual harassment, discrimination, ADA, FMLA, EPA, ADEA, PDA, FLSA, violence in the workplace, employee assistance, immigration law.
Administers the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program for area properties. Handles annual compliance report of AAP and all disparate impact analysis, underutilization analysis and goal achievement and setting for the following year; handles audits as necessary.
Directs the development and delivery of training programs to managers and staff that improve the protection of the assets.
Trains new property human resources directors or managers as required.
Travel to and assist in opening new hotels. Travel to and assist in closing sold hotels.

Skills / Requirements
Computer skills to include MS products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Education -
Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or similar field of study
Experience -
Extensive work experience in these areas. Specialized training in conducting lawful investigations; or 8-10 years equivalent experience in exempt human resources field.
