The University of Arizona is in search of a Communications/Marketing Manager for the Office of the CIO who might look just like you!
Successful candidates will possess a rare combination of qualities including, but not limited to:
Precision and passion.
Logical and expressive.
Deliberate and lighthearted.
You're bilingual, speaking both creative and technospeak fluently. You know Microsoft Excel and software such as Adobe Creative Suite. You'd relish the challenge of driving projects from beginning through to completion by sheer will power, while maintaining the highest level of budget, quality and timeline expectations.
Yes, you need to bring the basics - expertise and/or experience in writing, research, planning, proofreading, project management, event planning, media relations skills, community relations experience and interpersonal engagement - bottom line...do you like people? You need to meet deadlines, assist in organizing and driving projects and deal with administrators, faculty, staff and students. The applicant should also speak digital natively. Can you easily whip up some HTML (or have you at least thought about trying to learn)? What's your favorite presentation format? Most importantly, when faced with a challenge, do you respond with "absolutely" even if you have no idea how to accomplish it? We want someone who gets things done, not someone who thinks about getting things done - maybe you should stop reading and start applying.
We need you to accept that some days you'll be taking meeting notes, creating and monitoring social media platforms or putting together an overly detailed dashboard with metrics and analysis. Other days you might be introducing the President or Provost at an event, coordinating interviews with local News agencies, or figuring out how to leverage the latest and greatest digital tool/platform.
