WHERE WE BEGAN

Jobing.com began many years ago in the mind of a Human Resources Director frustrated with recruiting top talent quickly and determined to find a better way. That HR Director was our founder and president, Aaron Matos.

Having spent many years in the human resources profession, Aaron knew the success of an organization was directly dependent on hiring great people. He also knew, from experience, that recruiting local talent quickly and cost efficiently was a daunting task. Traditional daily newspapers were expensive and the reach of national websites was too broad. Aaron was searching for a locally focused resource which offered superior customer service and immediate results...at a low cost. 

He came up empty handed.

At the time, Aaron was the Corporate Director of Human Resources for a regional publishing and media company that was focused on local advertising. He began to realize there was a phenomenal opportunity to leverage the power of the Internet to connect employers and job seekers, focusing solely on the local marketplace. He took his passion for recruitment and phenomenal service ethic and set to work to build a local website that would connect local employers and job seekers - faster than ever before.

In late 1999, Jobing.com was born as a division of that publishing organization.

In early 2000, the website was launched in Phoenix, Arizona and has grown tremendously by focusing on servicing local markets, aggressively marketing its services and providing nothing but the best customer service to both employers and job seekers.

During the summer of 2001 Jobing.com, LLC was formed and sold from the publishing group to become a separate independent organization with private equity backing.

In 2002, the company expanded its services to Tucson, Arizona, where it quickly became the leading employment website and began offering local "Career Expo" events to the community. Jobing.com continued its expansion later the same year with the launch of its local office in New Mexico and moved on to explore opportunities in the great State of Colorado.

2003 saw expansion of the Jobing.com Career Expo events into Phoenix, Arizona and Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado. In February 2003, Jobing.com also finalized its acquisition of a leading local job board, CareersColorado and launched a full-scale product serving the entire State. 

In 2004, Jobing.com again began to explore opportunities for expansion in both product line, as well as regional operations.  In June of 2004, Jobing.com found a shining star in the State of Florida and finalized its aquistion of Rhinomite.com, with operations covering South Florida and Rhode Island.  The launch of each of these markets brought strong partnerships with local NBC affiliates, extending its brand reach and community impact.

With markets doubling in size year after year, Jobing.com set out to realize a long-term product vision. In August 2004, the company began airing a new employment television show, Jobing TV, in Phoenix, Arizona.  The company recruited and hired a full television crew, including a professional journalist, Vielka Atherton. Vielka, formerly a news anchor for a local independent network, created a newsmagazine designed to showcase an employers brand and culture - an angle never before afforded by traditional recruitment media.  The product has experienced tremendous growth, success and client raves.

In March 2005, Jobing.com continued its local market expansion with the acquisition of JobSummit.com, based in San Diego, California, providing local service to all local markets throughout Southern California. 

As Jobing.com continues its growth through new market start-ups and strategic acquisitions, one thing remains in focus...the value and success of our business is not based on technology, it's based on the phenomenal service we provide in each local market and delivering great local applicants to our clients in a cost effective manner.
