The Parent Aide I provides culturally appropriate interpersonal and parenting skills training and case management to clients referred for parent Aide Services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Reports to assigned site/client(s) as scheduled; follows agency attendance policies; submits accurate record of hours worked on a weekly basis.
-Maintains weekly contact with clients; meets with clients at least three to five hours per week.
-Provides case management to support families referred for services. Responsible for a caseload of approximately 8 clients.
-Assesses and documents the client‚s willingness and or ability to provide adequate parenting which ultimately may lead to reunification or termination of parental rights or guardianship
-Develops and maintains professional relationships with clients‚ team members and other agencies, including acting as liaison to referring workers.
-Provides training to clients in areas such as child development, home management, personal problem solving, accessing community services, appropriate discipline techniques and parenting skills
-Communicates with clients‚ referring CPS Specialist
-Maintains daily contact with co-workers and supervisor regarding pertinent events and information to be passed on to others
-Consults with supervisor immediately regarding any concerns or challenges related to their position.
-Participates and assists with program development with the goal of meeting clients‚ needs.
-Completes initial and on-going training required by the agency, or as requested by supervisor.
-Completes progress notes within a day of service; completes monthly reports within required time frame
-Maintains client files in accordance with agency and contractual standards; participates in monthly chart audits
-Completes daily mileage logs and submits to supervisor for approval on a bi-weekly basis
-Actively participates in professional staffing and Child and Family Team meetings.
-Participates in individual supervision with Supervisor on a weekly basis
-Participates in weekly team supervision meetings.
-Follows agency purchasing and accounting procedures.
Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor‚s degree in the behavioral sciences, or
Bachelor‚s degree and prior related work experience preferred, or
Associates degree with one year of full time related work experience required, or
High school diploma or GED and two years full time related work experience required; one year (24 cr.) of recent education in the behavioral sciences can be substituted for one year‚s experience.
21 years of age
CPR, First Aid certification (ICHD provides training)
Arizona Driver‚s License and 39-month driving record that meets insurance requirements; Arizona minimum liability Insurance coverage ($15,000) to meet insurance requirements
DPS Level I fingerprint clearance
Current negative TB test result (ICHD provides)
Important Notes
Works a 40 hour non-structured work week which may include evenings and/or weekends.
