Youth Restoration Associate

The Youth Restoration Program is a dual program/work placement at Goodwill for ages 18-24 who can benefit from both case management services and full time employment. In addition to gaining hard skills, Associates will receive support earning a driver’s license, GED or High School diploma and/or opening their own checking and savings accounts. Daily work involves recycling, rebuilding, and re-purposing donated furniture for sale in the retail stores. The Youth Restoration Associate receives on-the-job training in basic carpentry, bike repair, and other soft skills to succeed in the workplace. It is expected that Associates will actively participate in career planning, set education goals and when ready, seek employment in the community.

Must be dependable and prompt.
Experience working with tools (volunteer or employment history).
Knowledge of a wide variety of products in order to ensure items are complete and of good value.
Ability to realistically assess values of merchandise.
Ability to make quick decisions regarding merchandise quality.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
Ability to meet physical demands of job (lift a minimum of 35 pounds, stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift).
Ability to read, write and speak English and have a basic math aptitude.
Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
Must be able to work M-F, full time position.
Experience in a used goods or retail store helpful.
