Delivery of outpatient substance abuse and dependence, and co-occurring behavioral health services to person identified as substance abuse and or substance dependent.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Individual Counseling
  2. Group Counseling
  3. Screening
  4. Assessment
  5. Development and Implementation of Recovery Plans
  6. Discharge Planning
  7. Review client files for accuracy and compliance with state and federal law
  8. Provide supervision to and review documentation of services provided by behavioral health paraprofessionals and technicians
  9. Other duties as assigned

Skill / Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and preferred Master’s Degree in related behavior health area.  Two years supervised experience delivering substance abuse and dependency behavior health services.  Licensed Associate or Independent Substance Abuse Counselor by Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
  2. Flexible Schedule.
  3. English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Evidence Based behavioral health interventions for persons in recovery from substance abuse and/or substance dependence.
  6. Laws and rules regarding delivery of outpatient services from substance abuse and dependent persons.
  7. Cultural competence in the area of poverty, homelessness, local ethnic groups, and criminal justice populations.
  8. Read and implement Client Treatment Plans.
  9. Document and protect the confidentiality of client records and information.
  10. Promote client dignity, individuality, strengths, privacy and choice.
  11. Respond to client crisis situations.
  12. Record and document client information in confidential client records.
  13. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  14. Experience with Electronic Health Records a plus.
  15. Use computer spreadsheets and word processing software.
  16.  Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard and medical emergency.
  17. Needs AZ Drivers Licenses, Proof of Insurance and reliable transportation.
  18. American Sign Language and/or Spanish speaking a plus.
  19. Veteran a Plus.
